Corina Sîrghi, alongside Taraful Jean Americanu, revives Romanian folk music, taking us back to the golden age of interwar Bucharest with beloved love songs, soulful romances, passionate tangos, nostalgic chansons, and lively dances.

Corina grew up in Tulcea, a village near the Danube, where her love for folk music began when she first heard "Nu știu cu ce ți-am greșit" performed by Romica Puceanu. Her music teacher recognized her talent and guided her toward folk music, teaching her to perform the Dobrogean song "Trist și negri rămân norii." Today, she has an entire album dedicated to songs about the Danube.

The ensemble is led by Jean Americanu (Shaun Williams), an accordionist from Ohio who found inspiration in Romania's folk music. Along with musicians such as Marian Mirea (violin), Marian Șerban (cimbalom), and Costel Nechita (double bass), they create a vibrant sound experience full of authenticity and passion.

Corina Sîrghi and Taraful Jean Americanu have performed at events such as Womex (Portugal), Enjoy Jazz (Germany), Glatt and Verkehrt (Austria), Balkan Most (Hungary), Nostalgia (Romania), Șaraimanic (Romania), Respect Festival (Czech Republic), Mikolojki Folkowe (Poland), and many others.
